Deciding to embark on this journey was the natural course of a family tradition closely linked to the world of fishing and canning. Milagros, born in Santoña, a town par excellence for anchovy canning, was the daughter of a sailor and experienced first-hand the process of making anchovy fillets working in the canning industry. When she moved to Barcelona in 1956, she took this knowledge with her and found the ideal place to exploit it: a salted fish stall in the Sagrada Familia market. That was the business of the family of Alfons Pujadó, her future husband. They met there and worked together serving cod with their children. Milagros, with her entrepreneurial spirit and without ever forgetting her Cantabrian roots, began making anchovy fillets from the Cantabrian Sea and selling them at the stall. The response from customers was very positive, and it was in 1984, seeing the success of this initiative, that they decided to create Pujadó Solano, consolidating their dream.

40 years later: Pujadó Solano is celebrating

40 years and many changes later, we are still here. What started in a market in Barcelona has spread to 23 countries. Not only the best anchovies from Santoña , but also anchovy fillets, northern bonito and other seafood. Pujadó Solano has evolved and transformed a lot since then, but it has never forgotten its original values: betting on quality, artisanal production, passion, effort, demand and commitment. This has been the key to our success.

On the occasion of our anniversary, 2024 is going to be a special year in which we will look back on our journey and share with you interesting aspects of our history, our evolution, our team, anecdotes, etc. Each month we will focus on a different aspect of the company, as well as carry out activities in which you can participate, such as a raffle with special 40th anniversary packs. Sharing is caring! And we want to thank you for accompanying us in the best way. So don’t forget to follow us on social media to stay up to date!

We are starting the year in the best possible way, happy and proud to be able to continue doing what we do, making the best preserves from the Cantabrian Sea for all of you.

Thank you very much for joining us and happy new year!

2024 is not just any other year for Pujadó Solano.
