The first weekend of May was a busy one! We were at the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Anchovy and Canned Food Fair in Cantabria<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0in Santo\u00f1a, and also at the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>BioCantabria<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0Fair in Santander. At both fairs we enjoyed a great atmosphere, a lot of camaraderie and a great desire to vindicate a job well done.<\/span><\/p>

Cantabria Anchovy and Canned Fish Fair<\/span><\/h2>

This year the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Santo\u00f1a Anchovy<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span>\u00a0Fair<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0celebrated nothing less than\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>its 20th anniversary!<\/span><\/p>

For us, this was our fifth year of attendance and we couldn’t be more satisfied. Together with the 21 exhibiting canneries, we were able to enjoy\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>a gastronomic festival in a privileged location<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0such as the Plaza de Sant Antonio in Santo\u00f1a.<\/span><\/p>

We are very pleased to have been\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>finalists in the tasting of the best anchovy of 2019<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0and also for all the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>congratulations received<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0for the flavour and cleanliness of our anchovies and for the packaging of all our products.<\/span><\/p>

During the three days of the fair we made no less than\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>400 tapas so that the attendees could taste<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0our anchovies, boquerones, bonito, tapenade and brandade. We also took advantage of the opportunity to\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>launch our new anchovy and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>boquer\u00f3n<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0gildas \u00a0and\u2026 we ran out of stock on the first day!<\/span><\/p>

We were also able to experience first-hand\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the final of the 1st Regional Anchovy Pinchos Competition<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0organised by the Anchovy Brotherhood and Diario Monta\u00f1\u00e9s. The Caf\u00e9 Bar Siete Villas in Santo\u00f1a won the prize with its \u201cEl Capricho\u201d pintxo, an explosion of sweet and savoury dishes with hints of the sea.<\/span><\/p>
